so Saturday evening i went to my works annual christmas party, held at The holiday inn about thirty minutes away from where i live.
i really wasnt up for going, but since i skipped out on the one they had last year, and didnt want to hurt anyones feelings (mainly my boss)
i dragged my sorry ass there....
wow
when the D.J. pretty much sucks, you know the party is going to be struggling....
this was the first year i went to one of these events without bringing my own CD's...
what the fuck was i thinking?
is it to much to ask, that if you are a d.j. then maybe you should bring along a little diversity of music to try and make everyone happy?
Am i the only one at these functions that despise hearing "The electric slide" or "I will survive"?
okay, so maybe i was a bit cranky because i also had to stay somewhat sober as i was driving myself home, but seriously, when the D.J wears funky masks all night long and then forces everyone to play the toilet paper game,
well...
wouldnt you want to get drunk too?
anyway, my weekend was saved as of last night by the wonderful company of testykitten
who is always fun to have over.
Dorwayin made us both a fabulous dinner...
on the menu?
chicken with asparagus, mushrooms and toasted pinenut couscous.
Plus a good amount of wine to indulge in.
needless to say, we had a great time with her.
Ever see the film "The anniversary party"?
if not, i highly recommend it,
its funny and quite touching as well.
also, its great to see Jennifer Jason Leigh and Phoebe Cates together on screen after what... almost twenty or more years later since appearing in "Fast times at ridgemont high" ?
and yes,
they both pretty much look the same
very good in fact.
i found this clip of a great scene in which both of their characters are high on ecstasy and getting very emotional,
strangely enough, even though the clip is in english, its subtitled in english also???
weird..
but yeah,
"Kids just rob you of that option"
i gotta go make breakfast and get ready for work,
everyone have a decent monday.
xxoo

p.s. also saw a good film called "Sister, my sister" this weekend (from 1994)
excellent movie... anyone else see it?
