I had an amazing visit over the weekend with SurlyMike and Holagatita!
they were nice enough to actually venture into my city of Brockton on friday all the way from cambridge to bring me presents..
Two books (an autographed "I like you by Amy Sedaris" and "Here is New york" by E.B White)
and a celebrity sleuth collectors edition featuring the likes of everyone from Juliette Lewis to Dita Von teese.
Total of naked celebrities... Fifty!
so what did i have for them?
okay, so i didnt have gifts.. but i entertained them with AbFab episodes and some good ole nonmeat treats.
and then we headed off to Coriander for dinner (where Dorwayin works)
Testykitty and her mexican were nice enough to join us.
The dinner was excellent as well as the company.
The next day i headed to cambridge to meet up with them again, we headed for some strange and wicked city for a little adventure, had indian food for lunch and then later went to see "Volver" with Penelope Cruz....
the film was quite good, and Penelope looked quite delicious, i'm almost certain she either gained weight for this role or they padded her ass.
Sunday we met up again for lunch before they had to head for the airport...
and i miss them already!
If these two ever land in your corner of the world, definitely hook up with them as they are such fun company and so easy to talk to.
as for what Amy Sedaris signed in my book... she actually wrote "Drinking kills feelings"
which was quite strange as neither Mike or Hola told her i was a full blown lush.
today was my first day back at work in five days,
all i have to say about that is "Ick"
and i'll leave it at that.
my thanksgiving was quite a feast, i spent it at my uncles, who, along with his new wife prepared quite a meal!
all my extended Filipino family was there, and they cooked up a storm as well... plus my cousins japanese husband Masa made some of his famous pork dumplings... so our thanksgiving was a smorgasbord of ethnic treats on top of all the traditional stuff.
I left there looking like a plumped up tick and then it was off to my inlaws for wine and cheese
anyway, i'll stop rambling..
i have comments and bookmarks to catch up with soon.
so be patient with me!
and i'll leave you with five questions in the meantime
1) Do you have a favorite performance by Susan Sarandon?
2) what is your favorite Christopher Guest comedy?
3) are you a fan of Kim Novak?
4) strangest movie you have ever seen?
5) Robert Duvall or Robert Deniro?
gonna head off for a bit to watch some more AbFab...
and then i'll play catchup!
xxoo Shelly
