"No one move a muscle as the dead come home"
anyone out there love Shriekback as much as me?
Some cult fim recommendations!
1) "Badlands" Terrence Malicks masterpiece based on the Charles Starkweather/Caril Fugate murder spree in 1958, great performances by a young Sissy Spacek and Martin Sheen.... visually stunning and well shot.
2) "Rumble fish" very underrated Coppola gem featuring Mickey Rourke and Matt Dillon, this one is shot in black and white ( with only certain objects in color )
Dreamlike with a great musical score by Stewart Copeland ( The Police) and Stan Ridgeway (wall of voodoo)
3) "The Hitcher" .... was i the only one who had the shit scared out of me in the theater when this one came out? Rutger Hauer in perhaps one of his creepiest roles to date playing a psycho stalking and toying with C.Thomas Howell. " I want you to stop me..."
4) Frankenhooker... probably already mentioned this one before, but its soooo good in that bad B midnight movie kind of way, its worth mentioning again.
James Lorinz accidentally kills his girlfriend with one of his power lawn mower inventions
He takes it upon himself to try and rebuild her by using body parts of some of new yorks finest hookers......blowing them up with his oh so powerful supercrack! Watch this one stoned or drunk....
you'll thank me
5) "Unholy Rollers" one of my favorite Claudia Jennings films in which she plays rollerderby queen Karen Walker, watch her get pissed, start fights, rollerskate and show her breasts......and in less than an hour! Great tagline on the old film poster "A locker room look at the toughest broads in the world!"
okay, i'll stop torturing you for now.... i'm off to make breakfast.
xxoo Shelly
