Just a few cult film recommendations....
rent at your own risk
1) "After Hours" lovely little black comedy by Martin Scorsese about a computer operator who gets stuck in Soho one night without a cent to his name, and his evening gets shittier just about every five minutes.
Fun cameos by Cheech and Chong, Teri Garr, Catherine O'hara ( a vigilante who drives an icecream truck) and quite a few more.
2) "Creepers" not one of Argentos best, but still worth a look. Jennifer Connelly as an american girl going to boarding school over in Zurich, trying to solve some murders with the help of a crippled scientist ( Donald Pleasence) his chimp, and some insects that she communicates with telepathically
3) "Near Dark" one of my favorite vampire road movies from the eighties, featuring hottie Jenny Wright ( who i wish would start acting again) Bill Paxton, Lance Henriksen, and Adrian Pasdar. Some wicked kills, creepy moments and "The Cramps" on soundtrack make this one a must see.
4) "Angel" i need to get the poster to this one!
how many of you remember the tagline
"High school honor student by day, hooker by night!"
great early eighties exploitation hit. Fuck the sequels....the first one is the best
5) "Eating Raoul" Fun cannibal comedy for the whole family with Paul Bartel and Mary Woronov as a couple who take it upon themselves to rid the world of obnoxious perverts, and an undesired partner in crime, who sells the bodies to fast food restaurants.....
no really, its pretty funny....
Thats a wrap!
