Lavinia.... a.k.a "Vinnie"
she came into our clinic through the mspca
they were concerned about her health as she was far smaller than her littermates and extremely lethargic.
Chances were, if she was diagnosed with a certain illness, she would have to be euthanized.
She was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and pituatary dwarfism.....
hypothyroidism is extremely rare in cats.
So we adopted her....
she was put on steroids for a year, and put on soloxine to combat the thyroid condition.
Seven years later, she is still with us.
slightly retarded ( i kid you not)
but thriving and content nonetheless.
and she weighs in at about eight pounds.
pretty small for a cat, but not too shabby.
She has night terrors frequently....and sometimes pees in her sleep
So sometimes we have to place towels all over our furniture.
But she's doing well health wise.
But if you ever drop by our apartment
and notice the smell of urine while sitting on our couch....
Feel free to blame Lavinia
On a side note, i named her after Tom Thumbs little midget wife.
