I went to see a scanner darkly last night. i quite liked it although quite a few people walked out of the screening. I'm still not sold on the style of animation they used, i think i would have preferred a real movie, but i guess it helps with budget constraints on special effects. anyway, i would recommend it if you are alread a PKD fan or a sci-fi fan otherwise probably not.
Today, although i already have a new job that i start next week i went to a job interview, it was quite interesting and i really didn't expect to even get as far as an interview so i'll be very shocked if the offer it to me, but at least i have another job now to fall back on. i want to keep looking though because i so don't want to be stuck in an office working 9-5. it drives me bonkers having such a strict routine and living for the weekend is just depressing. i want a job i enjoy and that gives me some semblance of job satisfaction. which this one today would, however one of the other guys being interviewd probably has a shoe in seen as his dad already works there. damn.
I also watched junebug today, which i really really enjoyed. i guess it has that quirky element that is oh so popular with american indie films at the moment, but it really worked in this case. definately one to check out if you get the chance.
I have also been buying too many toys again. especially since the new dunny series came out. i got the tokidoki dunny today, pretty cute don't you think?
and i really really want the tado 8" coming out this month, but $50 is a lot for something that will esentially sit on my shelf and collect dust...
anyone else who is interested in designer toys should check out clutter magazine it's a good read
and check out Last Place comics it's my friends site, and it's very funny
i should be seeing a few films at the frightfest this weekend for free... it helps to know the organisers although there is not much there sparking my interest besides pan's labyrinth this year, but you never can tell with frightfest, there are usually a few interesting surprises as well as a few stinkers! ugh like the year i had to sit though house of the dead... there should be a world wide ban on uwe boll movies. starting now.
