hello
well, i guess it's time for a decent blog seen as my internet is properly working again.
first of all this weather is killing me! my flat is like a sauna, my hair is a frizzy mess from all the humidity and i literally thought i was going to die when i got on the bus yesterday i read in the paper that on the buses and tubes the temperatures reached 42C in central london (thats 107F)!!!
there have been rumblings in the clouds all morning and now i am waiting for the terrential rain and thunder stroms to start.
i went, against my own better judgement, to see over the hedge yesterday. it was rubbish. i swear they churn these things out far too quickly. it was unfunny, vapid and souless. no charm whatsoever. but i am going to see pirates tomorrow, although i have read mediocre reviews i could quite frankly watch johnny depp doing anything for 2 hours, and yes i even quite liked the ninth gate
well i just read funnybastards list if his famous five, taken from friends i think, so here as mine...
Johhny Depp
anyone who says they don't find johnny depp attractive is probably lying. i mean, not only is he attractive, but he makes (for the most part) consistantly good movies, keeps good company (his legendary absinthe drinking competitions with hunter s thompson come to mind), he's eccentric, and not hollywood at all, oh and he has a "wino forever" tattoo!
Dita Von Teese
although her love of vintage fur upsets me, i love her classic style. she is pretty much perfect.
Gael Garcia Bernal
*sigh*... this man is just beautiful, and for someone so young has made some absolutely amazing movies, he is passionate and intelligent, and i doubt you will ever see him in a hollywood blockbuster.
Nick Cave
the coolest man on the planet. fact.
Joaquin Phoenix
i really seem to go for the eccentric types. but, putting the lindsay lohan rumours to one side, he is a pretty cool guy, if not a bit crazy. but when you think about his upbringing its great to see him come so far, and he was amazing as johnny cash in walk the line.
so thats my main five, although i will probably change around depending on my mood. my subs are jonathan rhys meyers, joseph gordon levitt, viggo mortensen, pj harvey, paddy considine and jeordie white
only 8 days now until i go to the states. i can't wait, although i am dreading the travelling, i am going to have to leave my house at 5am to get to gatwick on time, then we have a stop over in atlanta (the airport there also doubles as hell, i swear), then another few hours to LA... i will be knackered and i can't sleep on planes, i just hope i get some good movies
i need help with a decision, should we go to magic mountain or knotts berry farm? i've done disney and universal before so i want to do one of the others. anyone been to either?
i don't know how excited i am for comic con in san diego. i've seen those scary convention types on TV. if its that bad i'm sure i can find a million other things to do in san diego, any suggestions? i am definately going to go to the zoo. i am not a huge fan of zoos, but the one there is the best in the world, they have entire eco systems for the animals. i think it will be pretty amazing.
oh, and i can't wait to get more tattoos, and buy new shoes. i love how strong the pound is against the dollar
i watched the miike takeshi masters of horror episode the other day, it was pretty full on. i'm not surprised they didn't show it on american tv... in fact did they not read the script before they let him make it? the man is a genius... i got the dutch dvd of it, but they have also been showing it on bravo... definately one to watch if you are a fan. but maybe not otherwise

if you don't mind huge crowds and are a serious fan of horror, anime, comics, sci-fi and/or toys, you should have a blast. i'd kill my brother to go to that. for real.
