Hey all, I just returned from another fantastic weekend in the Crowsnest Pass area in southern Alberta where I participated in an awesome field trip/conference with the Canadian Tectonic Group. Besides the spectacular scenery of the southern Canadian Rockies, there is a pile of rubble there remaining from a devastating rock fall on one dark April 10th 1903, 4:10 am. Within 100 seconds, over 70 people were killed by the slide. It was the most casualties caused by a rock avalanche in Canadian history. For those who haven't been yet, I highly recommend it! It is truly awesome.

Hey you rock geek. Thankfully there were no rock slides in my field area - however I have many field stories to tell. I'll be back sunday for some beers!
