What a great week!
Wednesday I took the day off of work (both jobs). Christa and I spend the day roaming the streets of San Diego and then caught the Ani Difranco concert. It was an amazing show and an incredible venue. The whole place only fit 1500 people. It was outside, right next to the harbor. The weather was perfect and we were able to catch the sunset right before the show.
Friday night we had another concert... Willie Nelson! (Christa and I took my mom and dad)
Now, I'll admit. I've done my share of making fun of this man. As a kid I would always tease my dad for listening to him. So, you can imagine my shock when the concert turned out to be one of the best I've ever seen and heard.
That ugly man (with an even uglier guitar) made some seriously beautiful music. His voice was actually pitch perfect, with a great range and really soothing (probably from all that weed).
His band includes his little sister on piano, one of his sons on percussion and another son on guitar. The son playing guitar was incredible! They did a cover of Stevie Ray Vaughn's "Texas Flood" that brought down the house (and made me want to play guitar hero).
All in all, it was just a perfect evening.
Saturday morning I had to go into the office for a bit before I meeting I was planning on attending. I ended up missing the meeting though... Because we adopted a NEW PUPPY!!!
We already have 1 dog... our English Mastiff "Ella". She's the sweetest dog in the world and we thought she could use a buddy to play with. By luck, Christa noticed our soon-to-be puppy had JUST become available at the pound near our office.
The new puppy "Rose" is an adorable 3 month old Mastiff / pit bull mix. I'll post some pics later when I have time.
Hopefully this week will go just as well as the last. If it doesn't, I don't think I'll mind to much...because at week's end Christa and I fly up to San Francisco for the weekend!
OK, back w/ pics.

and here she is walking with Ella.
Ella is over 150lbs. Rose is only 3 months old, but is pretty big already compared to her.
