OMG Shawna's updating! Hard to believe, I know, but I've been without internet lately, and will be after this for about another week or so...
But I thought I'd update.
I'm in Detroit right now. We're leaving for Grand Rapids in like eight hours or something. My next door neighbor from college and her girlfriend are being nice enough to drive me there and then drive back to Detroit on their own.
I've been in Detroit for less than a day, but it seems like a friendly enough city... definitely dirtier than some of the other places I've been.
---
Started a new crochet project since my last entry. I'm making a sweater and a duffle-type bag.
I'm also learning how to play the recorder. So far I've got Ode to Joy and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star done (learning to read sheet music again was the hard part.). Next I've got to learn the other notes besides just those that can be found in one octave, so I can learn other songs, and possibly become a musician proper instead of just a poser.
---
Saw a sign today that said, "These trees were cut down illegally". I laughed for twenty minutes.
Anyone else seen those kinds of signs ?
---
I haven't had "Christmas" yet, so I can blather on about what I got, but I can tell you what I got other people.
For Mike (I got it for him from before the break up) I got him a set of DDR dance pads for the xBox.
For my sister I got a tee shirt from Sinfest with Percy and Pooch on it.
For my mother and step father I got a bunch of kitchen stuff (dish towels and wash clothes, etc.) all decorated in apples (the motif of the room), and some apple-scented candles... and I'm crochetting the little duffle/tote bag thing to put it all in as wrapping--- the bag, if completed to plan, will look like an apple!
---
I can feel some depression settling in. I just hope being home will help me get over it. I know it's just because I haven't been properly productive.
---
My new year's resolution was to make good people good friends.
I'll have to explain later, if you don't understand.
---
Time to go to sleep!
I love you all, even if I haven't been nearly active enough.
