Lately I've been really debating getting something pierced.
Anything ears is a no-go - I get cysts in my lobes (that's why I haven't bothered getting them pierced, that and I'm just not an earring gal, if that makes sense) and anything else would mean no iPod for a number of days, because my headphones would irritate the piercing. I'd be a crabby girl with no music.
Tongue - no. After being a choir geek for 10 years, I can't take it seriously. And I'd have to take time off from work because I wouldn't be able to talk all too well.
Lip, labret, etc - no. Partially for the same reason as tongue, partially because that won't fly with work.
Nose - eh? It just doesn't appeal to me, but I don't have a specific reason for saying no. And it's kinda common.
Navel - nope. I have a tummy. I'll never show it off. That and there can be problems if you get pregnant, so I'd have to take it out and give it up then.
Anything below the waist - NO. The idea of soreness and not being able to do anything just bothers the crap out of me (I can't even stop touching myself during my period, hello), and I feel like I'd have to be insane to try something like that. Leave my womanly bits alone, ya know?
Nipples - thought about that. What a mess for breastfeeding, though, and if/when I do have kids I WILL be doing that. I can't sleep on my back though, so I'm likely to irritate them a lot.
Eyebrow - thought about that. Might be able to pull it off with work, but it's become the new navel - it's almost like a fad.
Anything else - probably not.
But as of right now, I have a a very very very bad fear of needles (example: I have panic attacks at the doctor's when they try to do a fingerprick and they end up giving up) and I have a weak stomach, so I won't be doing anything anytime soon.
If it weren't for the needles/pain associated with them deal, I'd have a tattoo by now, anyhow.
