So it finally happened. I knew working in a place like that held its dangers...hell anywhere holding money is a "danger". Today... yesterday now... I was robbed. At gunpoint. Not shitting you.
Luckily, I wasn't harmed and he never touched me. He came in and said, "give me the money" like all customers that think they're being cute. Before I could say we aren't producing loans any longer, he says in a more volatile voice "Give me the fucking money!" and thats when I notice his silver automatic at his right side, and eye level to me. He then kept repeating his mantra faster "Give me the fucking money" until I opened my money drawer to retrieve the cash. Well, you have to press a button to open the drawer and the silly fuck thought that I had given off the silent alarm to call the police, so when he saw me do that, he got even more agitatated and angry, and asked "why'd I do that?!" and I didn't know what he meant at first, and I said "I didn't do anything but open the drawer" and thats when I got scared that he was going to do something. I just handed him the money as he reached over the counter and took it, saying, "give me the fucking money, give me the fucking tape" referring to our sercurity system. All I said was that I didn't have access to it, and he quickly took the rest of the cash (only totaling 180.00). 180.00!!! More than anything I felt anger towards him for holding me up in such a way for a mere 180.00. At first I thought it was on the lines of 350.00 but laughed when I did a drawer count and saw the figure. Stupid fucker.
After he left, I went over to where the silent alarm button was and pressed it, picked up the phone and called 911, quickly gave them an account, and within two-three minutes a police officer had arrived. Before I spoke with him, I called the Orange Park location to try to get a hold of our regional manager, but to no avil, but spoke with Rosa and nearly lost it. However, I talked to the policeman and then later the detective and after all the shit was sorted, got to leave. And on the way home... got a good cry in. Not really for the situation at hand, just at the people that responded...my loved ones. Their reactions is what affected me more.
Have to go back in tomorrow (today really) but you're damn straight I'm leaving the door locked until my
customers come up.
However, after taking a brief nap my friend Albert and I went to Fight Night at Plush. Man, there's nothing like some old school knockouts to get my mind off the above mentioned occurance. It was so much fun! The next fight is July 7th (The day before the Ministry show!!) and you betch your sweet asses I'm going, and I think Delilah will be in town so I'll take her and Scotty boy. Man, I can NOT wait for her to get here. She is this amazing beauty of a girl who is so wicked cool its almost a sin. Plus, she'll have in tote an adorable new baby girl named Laurel. <3 Le sigh::
I can't wait for the upcoming weeks.
