bumper stickers seen lately;
'These colors don't run......THE WORLD"
"Fight Smog - Ride a Cowboy"
I did a couple Tom Waits tunes.
Other than that, I have been working on some photography. I found some good photo paper to print with. It feels fantastic to be taking photos after not having a good camera for so long. My sis asked for some art for her house and I have a few ideas for photos. Maybe a watercolor or pastel drawing. I don't think the pastels would travel well, though.
Things have been slow. I have only sent out two resumes this week. I've been having random bits of creative ideas and have been scribbling them down. Odd things about a girl who puts on a sleeping mask at night which enables her to become a dream burglar until she's caught and sentenced to have nothing but her own dreams.
I think I might have my birthday at the Wild Hare. I love that place. I want to talk to Alan first to see if he wants to make it a double b-day since his is just five days later. We've done something similar before and it was a lot of fun.
I fixed the tireflys on my bike. I can't wait to go on another night ride. I did 16 miles yesterday through Griffith park. It was cool & clear. The LA river path was closed because of the flash floods. I saw a bald man with a fu-manchu in a brown velour jump suit getting handcuffed on Riverside. He was driving a white 90-something cadillac with gold trim. Baby. The things you see on two wheels.
No band practice this week. The other guitar player, Justin, emailed me from France saying they wouldn't be back until the 7th. His brother in-law was killed on christmas eve crossing the highway. He wanted to use the call box because he had a flat. I've got to bring Suzel some flowers. I'm sure she's devastated. Life is so precious.
Janet & I went to see Bad Education last night. It's a wonderful film. It's odd to see Almodovar do a mystery, but it's a nice piece of work. I really admire his movies. Afterwards, a couple Pyramids at the 4100. It's nice to go there when it's slow plus, I can walk.
They had five chicken legs for $.99 at the $.99 store. I think there's going to be some grilling tomorrow.

i hate to admit how much i love staying in. a good movie, good food - and my wife and i are so happy on our couch. i mean, we love going out for good food or what not either. we're just not social types, for sure. we're not much for bars and stuff. so it goes.
thanks for your reassurance too. i really do appreciate it.
that's pretty wild that your folks lived here in hyde park in the 60s. a woman in my cohort actually grew up here - prolly around the same period or a bit later (she's right around 40 right now). she really loves the neighborhood.
you lived in iowa too right? i grew up in a fairlly rural part of illinois (silvis - the quad cities, moline, rock island etc). so ya know, you're my kinda people
