I gon a 92 on my test! Campus is closed today for Cezar Chavez day. Why it's April Fool's day, I don't know. Maybe that's his birthday?
I have rehearsal today and then I am going to a wedding at 4 in Eagle Rock. I wonder how much the cab will run me?
I need to do some reading tomorrow, another rehearsal, and then I have my sleep study at 11. I just want to get that over with. I am interested to see what the results will be and if I end up getting better sleep. It'd be cool to be more rested from fewer hours. Right now, I sleep 8-9 hours, but I can get by on 7.
I start training for the audio dept this week. I'm hoping that will last about three months and then I'll start in that position. Then, after a new probation period, I should be able to negotiate a new rate. In the meantime, I'm under review for my current position and I hope to get another buck.
Since I haven't been going out lately, I've been able to save up some money. I just bought myself a new toy that will pay for itself over time. It's a vaporizer!
I've got to talk to some friends today about a video they said they wanted to do. At this point, I'm trying to figure out if they're really earnest or if it's just talk. I'm working on booking some shows. We're playing a house party on the 15th. I'm working on a date at the Scene at the end of the month (my friend, Deanna, BOUGHT the Scene bar!). I'm also trying to get a date at Mr. T's Bowl. Hopefully, if we can network with some other bands we might get back into circulation. Booking is really tough unless you are already successful. It just seems like everytime we start playing show regularly, there's something that happens which forces us to take a break for a few months. I want to do a full-length recording some time this year and I'd like to be playing more regularly.
I've ridden 34 miles so far this week and the knee hasn't flared up. I don't know if it's because of the Naproxen, the bike fit, or what. I am scheduled for physical therapy, but not until the end of the month. I'm starting to wonder if I'm really going to need it.
I'm training the guy at work who's supposed to take over my job when I move up. It's weird, I'm not used to being a supervisor. I feel like I'm either too nice and let everything slide or I'm on the other end and am bossy. I think it has more to do with my perception. I've been good about telling him things like, "I'm haven't been a supervisor for some time so I'm learning as well. If there's anything you think I can do differently that will help you, please let me know. Don't hesitate if you ever have any questions."
I'm really anxious to get the new audio rate. It's not going to make me rich, but at least I should have some financial independence.
Fuck, I've got to finish my taxes!
