Pappy & Harriet's was really cool! We played for about 200 people and they really liked Nathan's stuff. There was another band there from Newark called the Witnesses and they were pretty fun. I like that whole desert community, lots of eccentric artists. It's cool to walk in and see a band playing country swing but the drummer has a huge afro.
We got fed and payed a little. I think I broke even for the weekend. We hung out with some friends that were staying at the Rim Rock cabins. The full moon was so bright you could drive without headlights and had a hard time seeing some of the stars.
Blew a tire on the way home in Rancho Cucamonga. One of the used rims I bought was for the spare and didn't fit. We got a tow all the way back to Silverlake. Good thing I have AAA +.
I went to the doc yesterday and got a couple referrals. I have a bone spur in my right knee. I am going to start working out again anyway. I'll just take it easy. I've been trying not to aggravate it, but the lethargy is really getting to me.
I also got a referral for a sleep study. My family insists I have inherited my father's sleep apnea. I snore like a mofo, but they claim I stop breathing at times. I sleep about 8-9 hours a day, but it's not a problem with the swing shift. I do wish I were more productive. I'm just not looking forward to sleeping with a CPAP machine, blowing air into my head like Darth Vader. Well, I don't have anything to compare with. Maybe it will do wonders for me.
I'm all set for school. Registered, payed, got my ID, my book's coming in the mail. I'm a little wary of the 6 hour Saturday marathon, but I'm looking forward to delving into it. It's good to be busy.
I'm selling gear on ebay and turning around and buying other stuff. Specifically, selling old obsolete digital recorders and buying a tube preamp for guitar/bass. I've also got a new tuner pedal coming.
I'm playing in a rock opera this Saturday @ Mr. T's. It should be cool, but I had to tell the guy to start looking for another bass player. I've already got two projects, going to school, and working full time.
The Shards bass player is back in town. He stayed in Atlanta after the holidays. His father passed away from cancer at the age of 86. I feel really bad for the guy and look forward to seeing him again. Maybe getting back to playing will be good for him.
If I were hunting without a permit, shot my friend in the face, and didn't report it for 24 hours, I'd be incarcerated.
Today is my one year anniversary at this job. People are telling me to not hold my breath in regard to my review. My feeling is that subject was part of my employment contract and they should be obligated to live up to the agreement. I have a new manager who is really cool. I guess I'll present the issue to him and see what he can do.

So, thank you very very much for your nice comment on my set! It is appreciated.
Happy late Valentines Day!
