The Wayne Manor burnt to the ground Wednesday. It's the house where they shot the Batman series.
I was going from work to our show in Pasadena. Right by the Linda Vista exit there was a huge column of smoke and bright light. I got to the Colorado exit and turned aroud, and there was this entire castle engulfed in flames. Not like there was a fire in the building, but the whole building was the fire. It was surreal as hell and I'm pissed I didn't have my camera with me. I would been able to get a fantastic shot of the whole thing from about 3/4 of a mile away.
I'm still struggling to save for my laptop. I had a little setback between repaying a debt to a friend and buying a new batch of CDs. I reordered 350 copies of our 5 song demo so we will at least have something to sell at shows.
Wednesday was fun. Most of the crowd was people we knew. There was a really hot bartender named Sarah. She gave us free beers all night. I think she liked us.
There were some problems on stage. The other guys couldn't hear my vocal or guitar. Loaner amp because mine needs work and even though I could hear my vocal, they couldn't. So, we got out of synch on the changes in a couple songs. One, I had to bail on completely. It was hilarious. But man, we're gonig to be HUGE some day....
I blew off the gym to sleep in before my hair cut. I'm shaggy. Broke as hell. I'm going to play Scrabble tonight with Janet. Tomorrow, there's a crazy hotel party downtown. Sunday, I'm going on the ice cream ride with the LA Bike Coalition. Then, we have a quick rehearsal before our show Sunday night at the Scene.
Come to our show if you can. It should be fun.
sorry it's taken me so long to say thanks for the comment on my set!
