Agreed to take a small pay cut to start a new job. Wasn't expecting a $13000 penalty against my retirement plan from my current one. Guess I'll stay here a bit longer. Damn...

So the power was out for a couple hours so I decided to throw together an arcade in a box made from spare parts and a Tupperware container. I got a little impatient (and a little crazy with some double sided tape) and managed to snap the stupid screen in half. Whoops. Not my most stellar move.

This has been such a shit year...easily eclipsing the last three also spectacularly bad years.

I'm old...well older than most of you anyway...and a birthday recently. If not for my son, I'd probably have spent the day alone. Not one of my friends offered to go out and do something. The people I've worked with for 12 years (ones I've taken out for their birthdays)...

I used to carry a set of street clothes for the longest time in case anyone wanted to go out after work. I just realized I don't carry a change of clothes anymore. It's been, hell, a year since I've gone out for happy hour or anything. Funny, at some point you just quit trying.
