Bride's First Email OCT 24:

Shaneka,
We watched the video last week, and enjoyed it...we did have a couple questions though.
Do you know why the video appeared to be very grainy, almost having the appearance of an old home video?
Also the pictures you put in there as well weren't clear at all, and some of the places you randomly stuck pictures, were un opportune moments, and I don't understand your logic. Like when I was saying my vows, suddenly I'm looking at a still picture of me and hearing my voice. That particular moment was one of the biggest for me in the whole ceremony. I got emotional, choked up, and wanted to see myself during that part.
So with that said, is it possible for us to get a copy of the raw video, you had told me before that we could get one?

Hey you guys,

It's been a long time since I've heard from you, I hope all is well. I am sorry that you had issues regarding the video. Hopefully I can address and possibly correct some of the concerns.

The reason why I chose to put in picture was to give more than one vantage point. I felt this simulated a video that would have had more than one videographer. Also, some of the times I was covering times in which there were other people than the participants in the shot.

I am not certain if you are addressing graininess or pixilation. If it's pixilation, the DVD is actually formatted for TV not a computer screen, which in traditional standards is 1080I (interlaced) instead of 1080P or 720P (progressive). The only part that I can honestly attest to a grainy nature would be the parts shot later in the evening. The wedding was almost an hour late in starting which unfortunately gave to some technical difficulties. Less light causes the need for dB gain which can cause apparent video noise. Not all of the video shot in the dark had this because I had an onboard light running on auxiliary power, unfortunately, the battery did not last throughout the night.

I deleted all of the raw footage and for me to re-digitize that and give it to you on DVD is not only time consuming but is not an industry standard to give away intellectual property. I would assume that the raw footage was confused with the raw images taken by the digital camera which was given to you previously. The only thing I can do now would be to give you what I have on my hard drive minus the layer with the photos.

Please let me know as soon as possible so I can give you a turn around quicker than a week. I relally want you to be happy with the video.

Hey, I'm not sure about all the technical terms, we did watch the video on tv, and I do understand what you say about it being night and all, but that still doesn't explain the pictures you put in there, they were grainy as well.
So, what you have on your hard drive minus the pictures you put in, would be appreciated. Although there was a scene where pastor Greg said something, the video blinked and he said the last few words over, that needs to be removed.

We did see the 4 min video on google...I've watched it 4 times, and cried every one of them. I sent the link to some people, my dad called me crying as well! It would be cool if we could get the video with pictures of us prior to the wedding, like in Spain, engagement, with music, the ceremony, then a couple highlight moments from the evening, some pictures, then the 4 min video you did at the end, like on its own part where we could just go to that 4 min video if we wanted instead of going through the whole video. With a total running time of like 1 hr. Is that possible? The video did seem a bit long, we got bored and actually turned it off before the end.


My Final Response:

I will be sending you the video minus the picture insertions. Since we both are working on just one car, it's just easier for me to mail it so you get it soon. I will try to find the spot you are talking about, but without the time code, which you can find on the dvd player, it will be a bit difficult. If you can get it to me today I can send the video sooner. I would also try to view the video on a different television.

Unfortunately I will not be able to make any other changes. I have a full load with business, family, and my regular job. I can suggest a few good editing platforms that would be simple for you to use and be able to include your own pictures for future use, such as any Mac software, which is really good or AVID Free DV which I use the regular DV software, it may not have different layers but they are easy to use. I believe that google video will allow you to save the video onto your hard drive and then transfer it to another format. Hopefully I will attach it to the website soon so you can download it from there.
