hey its thanksgiving. we systematically wiped out the native americans simply because they trusted us to be respectful of their culture, and history. we have raped the land of it's beauty to put up condos and malls. we have taken 4,000 years of thier history and stomped into oblivion so we could get rich from gold and industry. i am an american, and i love this country for soo many reasons. but this is one of the things i don't love about it. basically now-a-days thanksgiving is just a nice way to get family together to eat lots of food, and then go shopping. and i am ok with that. but let's not forget where this holiday comes from, and just take a moment to remember that. it's just odd to me that in a country founded and populated by native americans, that you would be hard pressed to even find a 100% blooded native american anywhere in the u.s.
