I can't believe my luck...
I was in the process of finishing off my work, putting on the finial polish on Flat of the cab... And, well... A corner of the stone sheered off the stone during the polishing process and kind of left a bitter taste in the mouth.

I did try to find the broken off piece but, could not find it. In the end I sort of gave up and have started anew.
The stone is not a complete write off, in terms of the findings that I have, there is little I can do.
If I had a finding with a decorative edging to hide the chip I could still use it, but, I don't have one of those at the moment
.
BUT, in digging around in my storage box I did find one of my previous stones that I have done fits perfectly in one of the frames, so, I can still show a finished piece at least
.

that is a Cab of Norwegian moonstone that I did... um, some time ago, I think I did it up for something and changed my mind and made a Labrodorite Cab instead. The finding that I am using in the shot was the ORIGINAL finding that I had in mind for the Labradorite (which makes it quite ironic, even though the finding was different than the one that I have now.) until I stuffed up the stone.
So, I guess the cracked Labrodorite stone will have to sit and wait until I find the right finding for it
