Alright. I did end up going to the gem fest the weekend, but, in rushing out the door, I completely forgot my camera.
BUT, I did catch some snapshots on my phone camera, so all is not lost!
Anyway, lapidary is essentially the art of jewellery making and the cutting of gem stones, it is a great hobby to get into, especially if you like the idea of making your own jewellery.
although, I am kinda funny in a sense, I am not much of a jewellery person (as in, I am not big on wearing it), but, I absolutely love working with different stones and making something with my own hands. Art sort of runs in my mother's side of the family, but I was not interested in drawing that much, so, this is a way for me to express myself artistically.
This was one of the outdoor trader's table (take note of the Amethyst Geode)
A LOT of Quartz crystals
This is a display of one of the club's members Cabochons. They are usually the first thing you learn, I have a picture of some of my own work somewhere...
One of the dealer's tables selling Silver jewellery (obviously)
besides that, you do come across some samples and some slabs of different semi precious stones around the different tables (I did not walk away from that place empty handed, I ended up buying a slab of some Jasper that I liked). More importantly, I found out what was the story when I went to the club the last time, apparently, the entry is up the back of the clubhouse, and, well, I kind of missed that part
.
I am hoping to go and join this Thursday if all goes well.
Other than that, the week is nice and peaceful. I only have two shifts this week at work, which is a great relief. Now, to do that assignment that I was supposed to do.![biggrin](https://dz3ixmv6nok8z.cloudfront.net/static/img/emoticons/biggrin.b730b6165809.gif)
