It is past time we as a people have both an internal conversation with ourselves, as well as a real meaningful national dialog about guns, and finally put an end to the carnage that been allowed to drench this nation in the blood of its own citizens for far too long!
People watch the mass murder unfold on their screens, small and large almost daily,

The same day I visited the Art Institute of Chicago Museum, I also took an Architectural Tour of Chicago by boat. It was actually the second time this year I have taken the tour and this time I took plenty of photos.

Architecturally speaking, Chicago rivals any major city in the world for it diversity in building styles. The drawer in in loves the diversity,...

Chicago is a heaven for architecture fans! I was there just once, and much too briefly, so Michigan Avenue was pretty much all I saw. Need to get back there!
shadowbard:
You do, and when you come drop me a line, I'd be happy to give a tour!

I got this morning not wanting to go to work. I have worked in some capacity since I was 14-years-old; I am 53 now and quite tired of working! I want to wake each morning and explore now: the world, art, music, other cultures, nature, myself. In other words I want my time to be my own! And who doesn’t want that?

I did get...

That's some fascinating artwork! I love to explore museums like this. And yes, it definitely beats working. You and I need to find us a sponsor or something.
shadowbard:
@kaicito either that or win the lottery and become independently wealthy!

I volunteer most Saturday mornings at a local Planned Parenthood as an Escort/ Greeter. We stand outside the facility and greet perspective patients and escort them in shielding them as best we can from protesters.

After the horrific attack of a Planned Parenthood facility in Colorado Springs last Friday in which 3 people lost their lives, this is what greet me and my fellow Escorts...

I suppose there are some areaas where I would be in disagreement with Planned Parenthood, but on the whole I don't think their main business is murdering babies. And I think it's wrong for these smug and self-righteous folks to harass people.
shadowbard:
No, Only a small percentage of Planned Parenthood's services are abortion-related. Their services are needed especially for women and men who cannot afford to go elsewhere and would otherwise be without family planning tools and care.

...these day days, like I am drifting through life watching myself slowly become meaningless. I struggle to be, to become so much more than I am, but I am hemmed in by obligations, responsibilities, relationships I long to shed like so much tattered clothing. II am struggling to fin my true meaning, my authentic self, my purpose, my calling.

Who am I? What am I...

I am in a strange place in my life right now, trying to figure some shit out. I am a caretaker; my spouse has Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and as the decease worsens I become more and more isolated because my life revolves around her and her needs. We have lived with MS for 15 years and it is finally taking a toll on every aspect...

see if your are able to get some help in caring for her. an aide that can give you the time to step out of the roll of caretaker. try to reach out to family or other services in your area. we lost our mom in april. 3 of us were taking care of her. at the end of the day we were beat. i don't know where you are getting the strength to do by yourself.
shadowbard:
@tonni003z Thank you for the comment and kind words.  Unfortunately we are a bit isolated.  She is improving bit-by-bit, and this too shall pass. I am a worn and wery, but, at least I am still fit enough to work and take care of her. #MyLotInLife
