Last night we practiced for the first time in over two weeks. It went really well though we mostly jammed and tried to come up with new material. I'm pretty happy with the direction we keep moving in. The songs are becoming progressively more free form, but somehow they sound more thought out than anything we've done. I guess you can chalk it up to us becoming better musicians, and learning to feed off of each other even more. We're gearing up for the Halloween show, then after that I'd imagine trying out new vocalists.
I've been drug free for a month now. It doesn't feel better or worse, just slightly different. I hunted around the courier for jobs today without much promise. I've been studying my drink mix cards with hopes to land a bartending job somewhere. Typically bartending jobs aren't posted in the courier, so I'm going to go out after band tomorrow night and drop some applications in the highlands.
I've succeeded in getting my brother and his friends hooked on Halo, so the past few nights have been pretty entertaining with four player shoot em up action, lots of bad jokes, and thuggish ruggish atmosphere.
Our guitarist was kind enough to loan me a stack of 16 horsepower CDs. My god are they amazing. I've had a lot of trouble listening to anything but haunting biblical folk music lately.
Jon Stewart was on Crossfire. It was hilarious to say the least:
