Sometime last week, we took my dog in to get her nails clipped. My dog is a german shepherd. She does not suffer her nails to be clipped lightly. Anyway. On the way home, I sat in the back of the car with the dog. The struggle had worn her out, so she was just sitting and panting. We had all the windows open, and it was perfectly comfortable out. I was happy. Perfectly. Deeply. Happy. I didn't want anything, I didn't expect anything, I wasn't anticipating or worrying or reminiscing. Just happy.
So much of my life is spent thinking about the next thing. Anticipating the next thing, the next moment, the next (dare I say) move. My life is spent in anticipation. It's nice, once in a while, to just be happy. So thank you dog, and sunny day, and the wind in my face. Thanks to you.

You ought to be a professional motivator! I'm totally going to go finish it all right now! Did you ever get around to reading it?

My god, I think you've just written the great American novel. I want 10% when it gets published.
