Well. It's been a little hectic, in that "doing a lot of things but not getting anything done" sort of way. La femme is on the verge of quitting her job and going freelance full time (being a graphic artist, it's an easy thing to do) and so there's a lot of "we're about to lose half our steady income" tension going around. It's not really that bad cuz she's a talented girl and people are jumping at the chance to work with her, but still. It's stress.
Had block party this weekend. Not even our block, technically, but we've friends over there and we always get invited. The retired air force pilot from south carolina did a whole pig roast, and everyone had pulled pork with homemade vinegar sauce. It was incredible. Then we sat around and got drunk and had strange arguments. Apparently, there are people who get offended that the city council makes you swear an oath when giving testimony about lot lines and what have you. I mean "This is not what the founding fathers meant by democracy! Government should be a free exchange of ideas without pomp and circumstance and high-headed elitism!' upset. It was a good time.

Yeah, I guess maybe there should be an emphasis on indulging on food like fresh fruits of veggies which are as eucharistic to me and also not, well, muffins covered in butter.
