Well, the first draft of the rewrite for IZ is done. That really took up a lot of my bandwidth. I'm just gonna coast for, oh, maybe 18 hours before my next project comes down. Ah, 18 hours of bliss, interrupted only by the constant grind of the day job, an unpleasantly deep-lung cough and other social obligations. Cheers!

What is it that you like about science fiction?
I loved Gibson's Neuromancer, and (most of) the short stories in Burning Chrome. After that, his work spiraled out beyond my ability to follow. But it's nice to find a fellow fan.
I agree with your assessment of sci-fi. I don't read it that much, but when I do it's usually near-future work; distant-future tends to be a little too speculative for my taste.
