Well I've made it through the new year. Work is extremely hectic but I think I'm starting to figure it out a little more! I've been a fish out of water more times with this company but I guess that's why I'm still here...I'm in my 10th year now! Holy cow. I'm not old enough to be w/the same company for 10 years! I never thought I'd be one of the "old timers" but here I am.
Now if you want to talk true old timer...there's this friend of mine who just took his first step over the hill! How's it look over there Sir William?! Don't worry, you're in good company, my girl Stacy's coming your way!
31...what's it like when people ask how old you are and you say "I'm in my 30's"?! I guess I'll wait and see!
So this morning consists of taking my husbands very old dog (13) to the vet for what will probably be his final check-up. He's got artheritis in his back legs, they're practically useless after he's been laying for an extended period of time. I'm not sure how I'm going to get him in the jeep..he's at least 85 lbs and he's not like a nice, square box that I can lift on my own! So either my husband really does have some very tight deadlines at work or he's having a harder time dealing w/this than I thought because he couldn't seem to wait until 8:30 to help me get the dog loaded up! I'm not sure which will be worse, getting the bad news that we should have him put to sleep or being sent back home with him, where I get to continue to watch him quickly deteriorate. The hardest part is that he's the happiest dog in the world (besides the puppy) but he just loves to be with me and to be held. He asks for so little and we just lay together and that's enough for him. Until he has to stand back up. Why do animals and people have to get old?
Man JWH...is this what you had in mind when you bought me this membership?! If there's any wonder to what's happening in my life (at least that which is consuming the most of my time and energy) you'll read it here!
I'm getting to be an old sourpuss...I need to find a new source of happiness and reason for being! There's got to be more to life than this.
Off to the shower, the vets and then Shreveport. I guess that's a start.
