Ok, lilyk was getting on my tits about an update so here goes...
I went home to eastern canada to see my parents last week and it was a nice trip. We had a couple of days of good weather and my grandmother is still lucid enough to know who I am. It doesn't look like it's alzheimers but certainly some form of dimentia. Luckily she is in good physical health but her short term memory sucks.
The hardest part is that she has always been an extremely stubborn woman so she is not admitting that she is ill. I guess we will just wait for the day when she accepts the fact and for now we just don't talk about it around her.
Wow, wasn't that uplifting! Anyway, to clear your head of thoughts of senile old people, here are some pictures I took on the trip.
xo Devo
The falls on the Tay River
My only shot of the farmer's market before my batteries died
Rainbow in Penniac
The Nashwaak River
The view from my grandmother's cottage in Penfield
Beached Pinecones
Urchin mit log
Burning dead brush at my folk's house (they live in the boonies)
My Dad's doggie - he's half blind, deaf and covered in cysts but we still love him. He just can't hike with us anymore.
That's all I got for now. I'm off to eat copious amounts of smoked salmon that I smuggled across the border and get loaded on duty free scotch.
