America is in denial. It's so hard for the average american to accept that we were misled into an unjust war and that our people and innocent Iraqis are dying for no reason. It's so hard to accept that this president is only truly representing the interests of corporations and a small minority of rabid religious conservatives.
It seems as if Kerry's only flaw was a lack of charisma. This country is so enchanted with the image, and the Republican Party has mastered the art of projection. Every day as we see Iraq plummeting into chaos, we're told that we're on the right course, that Iraq is a complete success. And most Americans believe this.
The economy is shaky but we're told it's strong. Our intelligence community is a mess, but we're told everything's under control. The environment is getting sold out, but we're told it's okay. They spin everything into sugar-coated lies that everyone eats up, and apparently they want four more.
America is uninformed and naive, but Bush now has to take over again the mess he's created, and soon there won't be any election talk to cover up the problems that keep boiling to the surface.
