current sounds: Telefon Tel Aviv
shout out: Casa Sanchez Real Guacamole . . . cause it's the shiznitz
it's been raining here which is pretty rare this time of year. i'm enjoying it. i was just talking with someone about how i couldn't live somewhere like Phoenix because i couldn't take all that sunlight all the time. a nice overcast gets the juices flowing, i think. i like the sound of rain falling against the house. it's very calming.
Naiad and I went out to the this club night Dark Sparkle at Cafe du Nord. the club itself was really nice, an old Speakeasy feel, lots of red velvet and gold trim. there was lots of black being worn and a lot of people were dancing WAY too seriously, but it was a good time. i like that scene because the music's always really good. they were playing the Stone Roses, My Bloody Valentine, the Cocteau Twins, ALIEN SEX FIEND! i can't remember the last time i heard them. i drank way too much red wine yet somehow managed to escape as the only one who didn't get a hangover. sucks to be Naiad
another interesting thing happened yesterday as well. i'm getting some stuff out of my trunk in front of my flat, and this truck pulls over and these two guys say they work for World of Stereo and they're delivering some speakers and the warehouse "accidently" gave them too many speakers. so they want to sell them and they can write me a receipt and everything to make it all legit. then they take out a magazine that has the speakers listed at $1300, and they say make an offer.
well, the interesting thing about this scenario is that the EXACT same thing happened to me almost 10 years ago in a mall parking lot in Dayton, Ohio. exactly, including showing me the list price in a magazine. so i'm thinking, A/ this is a total scam, and B/ do they go to school for this?
my roommate thinks it was completely legit and that they work for the store and go around thinking they're giving people these "hot" deals so they'll buy speakers they weren't planning on buying. that makes sense. it was amusing to say the least.
well, i'm off for the next 4 days . . . keeping busy . . . spinning over with Om records at their happy hour on Fri., and then 1015 later that night. might actually go buy some clothes this weekend. that's been pretty low on my list of priorities for a while now. i'd rather buy records but i guess when the socks get holes in them it's time to get real.

Needless to say, I do have issues with religion - mainly for the same reasons as you. As well as the fact that I was just driven away from the bible thumpers in Florida who made it a staple of their lives. "God will provide for me." Yeah, that's great, but sweetie, you gotta provide for yourself as well and not rely on a higher being to do all the work for you.
Heh, don't get me started on Satan. *lol*
