"si tu aimes une fleur qui se trouve dans une toile, c'est doux, la nuit, de regarder le ciel." - le petit prince
i've pretty much been a homebody this weekend. all my good friends are out of town visiting their fathers. i don't have to go home to let my dad know that i think he's the greatest. and besides, he's coming up on friday to get dinner with me. hurrah!
yesterday i watched the US v. Italy game at my favorite burger place. they had all sorts of special promotions for the game, including a free round of beer whenever the US scored (which was technically never- thaaaank you Italy). i went with my future roommate's boyfriend, and he knew the server so we got in on the free round of Miller even though we're underage. yes, that was the most exciting thing to happen this weekend.
last night i had a girl's night in and ate butter lover's popcorn and hershey's assorted miniatures and watched foreign films about teenage girls that my friends (all guys) would never relent to watch with me.
Christiane F. is a classic, but i was disappointed with the copy i had because it only had english dubbed or german, no subtitle options. i hate dubbed foreign films. except maybe old kung fu movies. those can be dubbed. oh and i want hair like Christiane
but just dyed red. i don't want all the heroine and the junkie look. no good.
the other movie i watched was sooooo good. it was ma soeur! directed by Catherine Breillat. it exactly fit the mood i was in. the two sisters are set up to be total opposites, but i found myself relating to both of them. it really delved into how teenage girls see sex- it was fantastic with an ending that shocked the breath out of me. SEE IT.
i really like movies about teenagers and highschool. everytime Fast Times at Ridgemont High or Dazed and Confused comes on TV i must watch it. my adolescence was NOTHING like those of the characters. maybe that's why it fascinates me. There's a free outdoor screening tomorrow of Ten Things I Hate About You. My best friend, Wills, detests that movie, but i might go. Nothing like seeing Heath Ledger sing 'Can't Take My Eyes Off of You' on bleachers in a weirdish accent.
it's raining right now and i'm going to put a top on and go get some chinese food before the lunch special expires.
HURRAH!

it's just that i've had some health changes in the past year and i dont know how to go about bringing them up. i'm going to be seeing a new doctor than my usual (which i'm glad about) but i'm still kind of embarrassed (ashamed is probably the better word there. but i really dont want to get into that. bleh).
i'll survive the appt i'm sure, i'm just stressing about everything.
i'm fairly carful on myspace because a pair of my old neighbours found me on there a while back, and their parents still live across the street from my mom. and my brother's girlfriend just recently found me and i know whatever she sees goes right back to my big brother...
