Okay, remember how I said change was coming, and I really needed it?!
Well its here. In a big steaming pile. All over my lap.
Last Monday they fired the two assclowns that have made the last 8 months at my job a living hell. *SCORE*
Last week I also got official notice that my roomie is leaving on the 14th. I in turn determined I'd turn his room into an arcade. I'm now the proud owner of an Indiana Jones PINBALL MACHINE.
Dan brought his cat to the animal shelter because it used my closet as a litterbox.
Now you'd think, that being that both the work and home situation had changed, that would be enough. Oooooh no. When the karma bus makes a stop with me, it makes sure it collects a fare from everyone.
So yesterday at 11:30am my boss leaves. With boxes. As in his personal belongings from his office. 5 minutes later the president is in my office saying my boss is no longer with the company due to 'restructuring.' HOLY SHIT!
Now the guy really wasn't an effective manager to say the least, but considering that I really looked up to him when I was just a weenie coming into this biz 3 years ago....I just don't know how to feel. He was kind of a surrogate dad here to me. He'd never yell at me, he'd share random dumb stories about his life, and we'd lament over the week's football scores and reality show outcomes.
So I don't miss him as a supervisor. But I miss him as a random goober.
So now I'm left holding the bag on a lot of projects, not to mention a 2 day speaking engagement at this conference in Buffalo this weekend.
Things still need to be reorganized and the loose ends tied up. So I guess I'm just going to hold tight until then.
