Wow..it's been 2 weeks!
Here's a rundown of what's gone on.
Spent massive amounts of time at work to complete a 42 page proposal for a potential client.
If they don't choose my firm, I want it to be based on something that's out of my control, not something that wasn't clear in the proposal.
I'm really proud of it.
However, it seems as if the combo of stress and cookies from a particular restaurant that I ate at twice in 3 days gave me a nasty case of hives.
I was red bumpy girl for the last 5 days. That sucked.
Work continues to try to fuck me over. I love how they keep trying to circumvent rewarding me in any way.
This 'new opportunity' that came up 3 months ago. They said they wanted me to expand into another nearby city once a week.
I said great, but it's going to cost you. No way I was going to do 2 jobs for the price of 1. Not to mention grow the business all by myself with no compensation.
Apparently what I wanted (while I felt very reasonable) was too much.
The proceeded to tell me that another candidate pooped out of the woodwork, and they owed him an interview.
They had met with him last year, and it was just a matter of odd timing. If things didn't work out, they'd put my plan in action.
After negotiating with this other guy for WEEKS, it seems as if nothing is going to happen. That in itself pissed me off.
You'll negotiate all day with some random, but not give me the meager increase I want. Hot.
So things sit stagnant for a few more weeks. I've got eleventy other things to worry about in the meantime. Suddenly this week I notice my boss holding an influx of interviews.
This again frustrates me. My boss can tell me with a straight face that there's no room to expand in this city, and he needs me to find opportunities in another city.
THEN he goes and hires a new salesperson. Who sucks so bad they get fired before they even start. Hot on the heels of that, another salesperson is hired.
Gee whiz, Mr. Boss...why do we need all these new salespeople, when there's supposedly no more work in this town?
Showdown is tomorrow at 11:30am. Gah.
Back in positive land, me and the boy are going to move in together in May-June. I'm SOOO excited, but that's the kind of news no one wants to hear. Ah well. I'll do a little dance anyways. =D
