If I knew then what I know now... If I hadn't done that... Things would be easier if... If I had done this, things would be different... "If" "Than" "Could of" "Would of" "Should of", but then this, that or the other...

One of the few nights that I wandered into this dirty, little bar on the service road, by the I-10, a familar looking, somewhat intoxicated guy walked up to me and asked me what year I graduated high school. Apparently, I looked familar and he was looking for a friend. We quickly realized who the other person was and that we had a few classes together in middle school. He asked me how things were going, before I said much, he started telling me about his life. He just had a little girl, but has no way to support his baby or his baby's mama. Then he started telling me that if he knew what life was going to be like he would have worked harder and graduated high school, because then he would be doing a lot better in life.

If people knew now what they'll know later, they probably wouldn't be doing the things they're doing now. Most of the time, they probably know now, but decide take the route that isn't the most wise.

I should have been doing things different all day and I knew it, but hanging out with a friend seemed right at the time. For instance, right now, I should be cleaning up then getting ready to go get my wife from work, instead I'm typing... Why am I doing this? Well, I wanted to type this morning when my friend called and said he wanted to stop by.

I've been taking my medicine lately, which puts me in the mood to type random thoughts, like the one posted above. There's more to the thought. It's about a problem that is so common today, but I'm not good at getting across my point. It might be because of how random it is. I ran into the guy over a year ago.

Anyway, I got to go feed my baby.

I've had a few of those instances as well. It's sort of weird when the past rears its sad, ugly face. I prefer the comfy, good times face.
