Day 10 of a Stay at Home Dad
Ozzy's eight weeks old today. He's the best thing in the world. I think I tried to watch a movie one of the other days while we were home alone, it didn't work out. Today, I might be able to finish a movie, if I get off the computer and back to the movie. I'm watching Die Hard. I love the Die Hard movies. This morning, I decided to play some video games. Right when the game came on, Ozzy decided I wouldn't be playing. I think he's probably needier than the average baby, but what else should I expect from me and his mother.
There's times that it gets frustrating, but once I look down at him smiling or frowning, it's just the most adorable thing in the world. I don't know how single parents do it. I know some couples where the guy works and the woman does everything for the baby, 24/7, no help from the guy except financial support. I don't know how they do it, especially when they have other children. Anyway, I feel that I'm constantly getting better at taking care of a baby. I mainly just listen to all the little tips I can, then see if they work with Ozzy.
Right now, I have him swaddled, listening to "Rain on the Roof". I'm trying to swaddle him less, but there's times I need a break. Other than me doing a better job with him, he's getting a little easier to handle, but he's still needing to eat ever hour and forty-five minutes to two and half hours, except for at night most of the time. Once he falls asleep at night, he'll sleep anywhere from three to five hours. Then sometimes, he'll wake up, eat, then go straight back to sleep. The only problem is that we can't lay him down after he eats or he'll start spitting it back up. Alright, I can go on forever. Everything's fantastic, it's just a lot of work.
