So this is my long overdue real journal entry.
1. I am loving this whole pride of home ownership thing. The house has been eating up all my free time and I dont even care! We just finished painted our living room, dinning room and hallway interiors a lovely shade of green, called rye grass from Behr in a flat finish. Oh, and our celings too! It took 3 weeks to complete that little project. We had to strip off the semi-gloss that was on all the walls and had well over a 100 areas that needed some TLC with spackle and sanding. It took an entire weekend for just striping and prepping the walls, another to prime and another to actual paint. We havent even gotten to painting the trim yet. The trim painting will be happing during the week I cant wait to have my living room back for next weekend.
2 .My husband and I have many house projects in the pipeline. We are having carpet installed in our stairwell on Friday and I am order my brand-spanking-new bathroom sometime this week! We are ripping out the pink and seafoam green bathroom straight outta 1949 and putting a nice, new and clean john. I CANT F**KING WAIT. I get to completely design the whole space. LOVE IT!
After that its back to painting (the bedrooms) and then getting a new kitchen counters and cabinets. And some new light fixtures would be good too I have a hefty house wish list - I wont bore you with too many details.
3. My husband (Dan, age 25) is so fuckking rad. He is the master of the belt sander and hammer. The guy can build stuff, fix stuff and is generally extremely handy. Thank the Lord b/c I am pretty much a freaking spaz and have a tendency to turn off my brain in the middle of a project. He is right there to keep me going.
4. I was asked to be in a wedding this summer! This is so exciting! I have never been a bridesmaid before, even though Ive been a bride. (I was the first of my close friends to get married)
5. I have decided on my back piece, a big beautiful back piece, now I have to save some dough and get on the huge waiting list. Luckily I have a raise coming soon to help pay it off.
6. Does anyone have a royal form, size 8 that they want to sell to me? It will complete my office/sewing room. I need to drape.
7. Web sites I have been addicted to lately eBay for discount makeup and Express Editor pants, Preston and Steve for sending jokes to my co-workers, Home Depot and HGTV for my new bathroom, Makeup Alley for makeup reviews, Sephora for purchasing and wish listing said makeup and Epicurious for new seafood recipes.
8. I graduating the intern program at work. This is me and Dan. (He also graduated at the same time) We work together Did I mention that before? Not side by side, but in the same department. We are on different teams on different sides of the building. So we dont have to look at each other at work!
9. I have toenail fungus. I assume its from the local nail salon. What is the freaking deal with dirty nail salons? I guess I will be doing my own pedicures from now on. This is a bummer, because I like getting my toes taken care of. That or I go to a high end spa which I dont have the money for. Ugh It should be cleared up by sandal season. I hope. I have been medicating them and watching new clean nails grown in.
10. I have been enjoying watching movies at home with the husband. Its so nice to be in a house that is actually quiet. Living in the apartment, where we shared the front door and hallway with our neighbors, so we never really got a block of quiet time to watch movies - someone was always coming and going and slamming doors. And there was a toddler living and stomping around above us Movies were not good experiences in that place, they flat out frustrated us.... ahhh, times have changed!
So recommend me a movie! Horror, comedy and straight-up fd-up wack stuff is always good.

I was at Lowes today and American Tradition had a bunch of colors that I really liked.
Choosing paint is really tough for me. My carpet is sorta white...my furniture is all black stuff from Ikea.
I was sorta thinking do sandstone as a main color with red or black trim. Maybe do one wall red or the ceiling.
Just not good when it comes to this stuff.
