Some milestones. All the union documentation ends up at the union and the production insurance is bought. The lawyer is retained, because, as we all know, there can be misunderstandings ...
On our last shoot an actress claimed to have had stolen her wedding and engagement rings. She had removed them and put them in a backpack while on the set. She did not tell anyone she had them, she did not put them in the locked room, she just announced, at wrap, that we owed her $3000 for her missing property.
Her husband showed up. He was kind of a bully, and if you know me, I really hate bullies. If you don't know me then, by the way, I hate bullies.
I called the police to report the robbery, but their final report showed they actually weren't convinced a crime had occurred. One of the detectives confided to me, in our interview, that he thought she lost her stuff. Apparently she has a history of losing stuff.
In spite of the police report, SAG stood behind its member and billed me for the $3000, which I didn't pay. Instead, I called the lawyer and paid him instead so he could write SAG a letter. The upshot is that I'm paying this person $1000 instead of $3000, and hopefully the delay and the aggravation will encourage them to think of me as an inhospitable target for future complaints.
Like I said. Misunderstandings happen.

That's the American circus: family is overrated and lust is underrated. Small towns, overrated. Thinking you deserve better, underrated. Having babies, overrated. Having your own soul, underrated.

I totally get it...Every time i go home, it is a line of girls i grew up with getting married and having babies and scorning me for going after something more. I put my dreams on hold for a while and now I am actually living them...as scary as it can get, I wouldn't trade my life right now for anything. I know that there is so much more to life than even I will ever experience. I just go with the flow and enjoy the ride.
