I recently watched Into The Wild. The best film i've seen in a looong time. So beautiful & profound & heart-breaking. "Happiness only real when shared", "I know how important it is in life, not necessarily to be strong, but to feel strong."
"There is a pleasure in the pathless woods;
There is a rapture on the lonely shore;
There is society, wher none intrudes,
By the deep sea, and music in its roar:
I love not man the less, but Nature more..."
Lord Byron
Unfortunately for me, I have a mindless, very badly paid job & this film really makes you question why you'd waste so much of your precious life doing something completely unrewarding, in every sense.
Well, the answer is, of course money & debt.

trills:
The grind sucks. It is hard to marry what life "should be like" with how it is. I had mad dreams of strange commune living, though I'd fail at self reliance, I really don't like my veggies
Moments of clarity are great, until they leave you feeling like a mindless monkey!
