I know I am a bit late on this one but why not? :) I kind of like the homework blogs @missy and @rambo have been giving out. I don't always know what to talk about so let's give this a try!
1. I am a cat-lady. Currently, we have four cats in our 1 bedroom apartment and we are always looking at the feline babies at the shelters. Honestly, if I had the space, I would have a huge farm with tons of cats roaming free. My wallet has cats on it, I have cat socks, cat shirts, cat buttons, cat everything. Two of my tattoos that I am planning are cat related.
These are my current loves:
This is my Luna Bear. I've had her since she was a kitten when I was in high school. She was a stray living behind our house and I took her in. She is my baby and she is very very spoiled. When I've had a bad day or I'm upset, she always comes and gives me cuddles.
This is Avril Pie. She is the oldest of our babies. She is my "step-cat" I suppose. My girlfriend has had her since she was a kitten as well. She is a feisty little girl and doesn't like a lot of people. She will bite and scratch and she could probably murder a small human being. It's kind of like having a guard dog! But she has loved me since the first day we met. :)
This is Special Boy. He is about the same age as Luna. My girlfriend adopted him from petsmart when he was younger. He is a hurricane Katrina rescue. He is a persian and he had seizures and walked around with a titled head for a while. But he has been very loved and now he is just a goofy little ball of snot. :)
And this is our youngest, Raven aka Beantoes. She will be a year old this month!! She is tiny and she gets into EVERYTHING. She loves water and laser pointers. She is always full of energy but as soon as we lie down to cuddle, she has to sit on top of us. She loves being close to people and is always trying to cuddle the other cats, unfortunately they won't indulge.
2.I love baking. Cooking is so much fun to me, especially baked goods. If I've had a rough week, it's nothing a batch of muffins can't take my mind off! I own tons of cookbooks, though I don't use most of them. I really like to try a recipe once and then make my own adaptations. I usually make muffins once a week and occasionally I make sweeter items like cupcakes or cookies. Today we are having pancakes!
3. I am a total foodie. One of my favorite parts about going to other cities is trying the food. We don't have anything good in my city really, only chains seem to survive, so I love finding little places that have yummy food I can nom on.
Some of my favorites from the last year. :)
4. I love fitness. I want a fitness career of some sort though I haven't worked out the details. I would love to be a fitness model though. I try to work out at least 3 times a week, doing cardio one or two since I have knee issues. Working two jobs and having a life can make this hard but I am determined now more than ever.
5. I am vegan. I have been vegan for 5 years and I was vegetarian for 2 years before that. So I haven't had meat in 7 years! For me, I just don't want to eat anything I couldn't kill myself. Veganism is a lot like my religion. I honestly love animals more than I do people. They are so innocent and they deserve to roam free and not be forced into tiny cages or be treated poorly because of man's gluttony. To be honest, I have no problem with people hunting. If you can go out and kill an animal or two to feed you and your family and not feel bad about it at all, good for you! I wish more people could\would hunt their own meat. I think they would hold more respect for the animals and the world would be an all around better place. Is this realistic in today's world? probably not. So that's why I'm vegan! I couldn't kill it myself if I had to, I don't like the taste or texture, and I can't get the image of what it really is out of my head.
6.I was a professional belly dancer and I've only given up on it in the last couple of years. It's so hard to be a tribal fusion belly dancer in my area and a lot of the dancers here see each other as competition instead of making a community. I really miss dancing. It is such a good way to express yourself and there is just so much passion behind it for me.
7.I love craft beer. Unless I am drinking to get drunk, you will never catch me drinking cheap beer. I love stouts, porters, and brown ales. I usually steer away from IPA's and lighter beers in general. We have a growler store in town now and I love going! They always have something I love which can be pretty hard to find in this town.
8. I had dreads for a short period of time and I want them back. I can't wait for my hair to get long enough again!
Mine weren't professionally done the first time and they were too large. The sections were just awful so I am waiting for my hair to regrow and then I will get them done by someone with a little more experience. ;)
9.I love hiking and camping and just generally being outdoors. I'm so excited that it is warming up in Georgia and I can be outside more now!
10. I've been on Suicide Girls since I was 18. Right after my birthday, I shot my first set. I was a hopeful for 2 years before my first set was bought and I've been here pretty much since! So I have been part of this amazing community for 5 years now! So much has changed since I joined but that isn't all bad. I'm really hoping to be more involved now and hopefully get some new sets shot for you all! :) Unfortunately, I don't have any of my older sets on this computer! Maybe my next blog will be pictures from all of the sets I've done for SG!
