Sometimes at night I lie down and just can't fall asleep. Most of the time I just replay mundane events from the day until they trail of into the absurd and I'm suddenly dreaming. But sometmes I envision walking through rooms. Opening a door and entering a familiar room, seeing familiar people and pets. However, as I continue moving through rooms, from the house I'm in now to the house I grew up in, I start to see things unfamiliar. Rooms I don't recognize, people I've never met, animals I've never owned or known, turquoise walls, toilets in the living room, puggles and chimps playing tug of war...
I love those rooms, I cherish those moments when the brain decides to go off on an insane and peacefully absurd trip. No, this is not a precursor to me asking you if that is normal. I'm completely aware of the societal definitions of normalcy. It would be normal to dream, and then to awaken and dismiss the dream, and to not give it another thought. Unless of course YOU played a starring role in my dream, then I could tell you and joke about how abnormal dreams are.
I love to dream. The End.
