More slow slow slow progress on the job hunting front. Its maddening just how slow this whole thing goes, how little I can actually do on a day to day basis to find work.
There are only so many producer spots in the industry and much competition for what's there. Any resume you send cold has a 99% chance of just going to the great resume black hole. If you have a recruiter, your chances may be slightly improved if the rec ruiter is a good one - most recruiters are not and you're back in the black hole. On top of this, since there's so much cpompetition for jobs at this level, unless you have specific project experience relevant to this particular position (as in, if they are looking for a first person shoote position, you need to have specific AAA FPS titles under your belt), you can just forget it.
The only real hope is to then just make friends with people at companies with openings and hope that "in"will get you somewhere.
So this begs the question: "whose dick do I have to suck to get a goddamn job?!"
