I'm up at Gwen's house. In Felton. In the Santa Cruz Mountains, in the redwood forest. Not that far from civilization, but it sure feels like it. Almost every rustic stereotype you have in your head applies. Ducks and chickens running around in the yard, dogs by the foot of the bed, cats sleeping on the bed, woodstove burning in the family room. Now add TEVO and Internet Cable, and you've got it!
Just a few words about redwoods: there are trees and then there are redwoods. Alot of my my new friends do not come from this part of the world, but if you ever come for a visit, I have to show you. I don't have a digital camera (yet!), but even if I did no picture could do them justice. You have to walk among them, you have to look up at them (way up at them!), you have to look at an old growth redwood and think to yourself, "OK, this was a sapling when the Roman Empire was still in existence." In case you can't tell, I regard them quite highly.
Its beginning to rain again. Its been raining for one week here with very few breaks.
