I'm still getting used to this format, but I figure it can't hurt to drop the odd Blog post here and there with my thoughts, right?
My shoot with @jadestoner, Happy Accidents, has been getting a LOT of attention, and that's awesome! I've even seen a few kind words thrown my way in the comments, which was a pleasant surprise!
I admit it. I over-shoot my sets. But I don't really see why that's such a bad thing. I enjoy myself at a photo shoot, and I make sure my clients enjoy themselves as well! A photo session doesn't have to be so serious and cut-and-dry.
A photo session is a play session for me. I admit I'm a little weird, and goofy, and it all definitely comes out during a shoot, but what tends to happen is it makes genuine expressions in my images.
Real Emotion shows in photographs, regardless of what anyone says to the contrary. And it can truly be what makes or breaks a good image, or even a good set.
Wait. Hold that. Right there. Just another 3... 2.... 1.... got it. I honestly never really expected I'd get into shooting sets for SG. I always felt a draw towards this style of photography though. Maybe it's the fact that I spent a lot of my childhood in Europe, but I've never felt like nudity was something to be afraid of, or ashamed of.
I don't believe that all nudity is inherently sexual, and I find beauty in the vulnerability that the nude form can evoke.
That being said, getting the right shot can make a difference between artsy and steamy.
Nudity can be sexy, but sometimes the sexiest photos leave more to the imagination.
My photos are real. Airbrushing is a thing of the past. I urge my clients to be comfortable with their whole body. Every inch of it.
Partially because I want to remind my clients that they're beautiful (and I'm about to show them with my photos), but also because photoshop can add a LOT of extra time to a workflow.
Body Positivity is the most important thing in any of my photo sessions. And I promise, you're gonna love yourself just a little bit more after your session with me.
Not quite the way I meant it... but go on then...
