Swear to god, the scene in "Dallas Buyers Club" where Rayon (as so deftly portrayed by Jared Leto) pleads with his friend not to take him to the hospital, yet is bleeding from the mouth and desperately crying, "I don't wanna die", is the most emotionally devastating, sad, and horrific scene I think I've ever seen in a film.
I don't know of 5 seconds from any movie that leaves me weak with simultaneous terror and sympathy. It's so potent in its terror especially because you wouldn't wish that moment on your worst enemy. And since Rayon is the exact opposite of such a person, the desolation is infinitely more profound.
I'm finishing "Dallas Buyers Club" now just after having seen it a few months ago, and I can think of maybe two movies in my life that I've seen twice in such a short time. A painful, yet great story with acting that is indescribably impeccable.
