CAVLDRON 2WONTY <> LIDLESS AND ALL-SEEING.
J.P. Monroe (Kevin Bernhardt): “Jesus Christ!” [reacting in horrific awe to Pinhead’s appearance]
Pinhead (Doug Bradley): “...Not quite.”
- “Hellraiser III: Hell On Earth”
Pinhead (Doug Bradley): “Although the boy will not die here, for a thousand years his dearest wish will be that he had!”
John Merchant (Bruce Ramsay): “For god’s sake!”
Pinhead: “Do I look like someone who cares what god thinks?!”
- “Hellraiser IV: Bloodline”
I really adore a snake’s lidless, unyielding eyes: always watching, never sleeping.
At least, that’s how it would appear. In reality though, of course they sleep, and they do it often. But they’re extremely light sleepers, and you can never tell when they’re dozing.
One way to be somewhat sure is if they don’t react when a shadow crosses their head, but even then you can’t be sure. They may just be waiting for an outstretched hand, or a lonely child...
Anyway, I really wanted to write a bit yesterday, but Monday evenings are too busy: their my “purge for serpents” night. Every Monday from 7p to after midnight, like clockwork, I spend at least 5 1/2 hours cleaning the habitats of my two Royal Pythons – Rå & ϧ¡s – and my Jungle Python, MΣ∂V§Λ.
In addition to a thorough cleaning, it’s also feeding night, though last night wasn’t a terribly eventful one. Medusa only ate 3 rats, Isis is very close to molting and therefore has no appetite, and Ra is pretty deep in brumation. This latter state, being a period of both lessened metabolism and a decreased interest in food, as well, especially for adults.
On to music for a bit: is anyone out there dismayed by the fact that both Underworld and Ennio Morricone have not declared any Stateside gigs, despite the fact that both are getting ready to perform full tours of Europe?
