CAVLDRON 2W0NTY <> OH NORTH PARK, WE HARDLY KNEW YE.
Leave it to a trip out into town to leave me feeling like a million bucks. I only had to make one stop at CVS, and by the time I got there, Id already witnessed the absolute desolation of El Cajon Blvds asphalt thats no doubt been the cause of the recent blackouts and water cutoffs. Plus, there were about five cop cars (actually, at least) in the parking lot of a nearby liquor store, undoubtedly attending to a recent robbery.
Its not that I live in a bad neighborhood, because I dont, but just a few blocks south is a definitely-could-be-better strip of San Diegos legendary The Boulevard, that being El Cajon. The various quagmires and pitfalls one can encounter on said street are numerous, and it seems theres always new ones that surprise me. So Im not afraid to say that I welcome the relative safety afforded by my little home back off the strip.
Its a good neighborhood; we all just need to be sure to remain ever vigilant. Really, just please.
Theres also nothing like a trip to the local CVS to make one feel better about oneself. And I certainly dont mean to sound like an ass, because I have nothing but empathy for those lesser fortunate than I. So, suffice to say that Im not incontinent, vertically-challenged (Ill leave that vague notion to your own interpretation), thoroughly drunk, fashionably clueless (and, believe me, you cant get more FC than me), and/or uniquely mentally ill.
Not yet, anyway. Give me a few more years, and Im sure Ill be joining my brethren in heartfelt song down at the ol CVS. (Hey, at least its cheaper than Walgreens.)
Also, finished The Godfather, Part II tonight, and the ending with Corleone against the world definitely seemed as though it was profoundly influential on the final scenes of There Will Be Blood, as Im sure it was on countless other major films.
Also, I checked out most of my purchases of Amazon.com-bought cinematic rarities tonight, and all were as described by their sellers. Except... one VHS of a film called Dreamslayer (also known as Blood Song) had a nice surprise: in the films sleeve was a VHS not of said flick, but rather of some porno.
Never happened to me before, actually. (Guess I havent ordered enough stuff to have it happen more than once.)
But regardless, seller contacted, exchange/refund demanded. Cant wait to hear what they say in apology.
