XXIII. THIS IS HARDCORE
[ Now playing on the Severe Trauma Sounds... Bleed The Freak by Alice In Chains from Facelift ]
Just got back from the Bay Area trip tonight, and all went pretty damned well. We actually fit in Sacramento on Saturday, too, so it was a lot of driving for my buddy.
I went with my best friends here in North Park, a couple whove been together for more than a decade now. The girl has a sister whos been diagnosed with brain cancer and, just very recently, leukemia. So, the most important point to the trip was for her to see her sister up in Berkeley for what could be the very last time.
So we had sushi with her on Friday night, and then breakfast the next morning at Berkeleys Homemade Caf, where the food was really good (though the pancakes were a little undercooked), but the wait was pretty bad.
Then we went over to the street fair on Telegraph, an area I know very well back from when I used to visit my mom at Cal.
And then it was over to Sacramento to visit the girls daughter and the daughters girlfriend, and more on that tomorrow...
O.o
Suffice to say, for now, that things turned out real cool, and when I got home, I was more than pleased to find my SP cap had arrived. And was also stoked to find a local, beautiful cat Ive named Shear Khan waiting to visit my two cats at the door.
We played a little and he ended up attacking my face because he didnt recognize me in the cap. Did a good job drawing blood, too.
Strangely, I found this welcome and enjoyable. (Then again, Ive never really minded a good bit of drawn blood.)
So, for the first time in a long while, my wounds...
And the little bastard that did it...
And a song you just cant fuck with...
