XII. THE MIND FLAYER
[ Now playing on the Severe Trauma Sounds... Lemon by U2 from Zooropa ]
I've been out a week, and I know my last entry wasn't a very happy one. (So much so that I've edited it a little.) I wrote it after I got back from an unfortunate date, and I was very, very frustrated.
That was a Thursday, and the next night (exactly a week ago), I went out with my friend Marg and we made an unexpected visit to some friends of ours who just had a baby. I'd forgotten my spirits, however, and I wanted to get a bit of a drink on, so we dropped back by my place first. I ended up turning my key in one of the locks of my doors so forcefully that it broke off in the lock. And as misfortune would have it, I didn't have my backup key, so I've spent a couple evenings over this past week replacing my four door locks.
That's all done now, though my phone went kaput the very next day, so after partying on Saturday, I went to buy a new phone. It's not a smartphone, but it'll more than do, so I'm cellularly accessible once again.
I also saw Paranormal Activity 2 that same day (Sunday) and really, thoroughly enjoyed it. I thought it was a great movie and I dug the ending, but I may have also been on a bit of a natural high from almost losing my decade-old pair of sunglasses that I left on a counter at the cell phone store.
Anyway, the work week was very brutal, especially considering that all of our sites were down all day Monday, making it an official Black Monday. That was terrible, and it made the rest of the week even busier, so I'm glad it's over now.
As far as this weekend goes, a quiet Friday night (for a change) is drawing to a close, and then I'll be taking care of the apartment and hanging with friends and my brother at lunch at Casa Adams. After that, a couple friends of mine are celebrating their anniversary, and they apparently want me to stay with them for the weekend at the OB Hotel.
I guess I'll see how that goes. I am looking forward to it, but something tells me I may be coming back early...
