Hey everyone! It's been a while since my last blog; sorry about that :( but here I am again! The homework given by @rambo, @lyxzen and @missy asked: what is the soundtrack of your life?
It's always hard for me to chose that kind of thing because my musical taste actually changes a bit from time to time.
I could say every song from the Arctic Monkeys, Oasis, The Smiths and Joy Division were the soundtracks of my life (and they kinda are) but lately, there's 3 'main soundtracks' that sound like me and whenever I listen to them, it feels like what my life sounds.
First of them:
- The soundtrack of the movie Donnie Darko: I could spend hours here telling you all why Donnie Darko is one of my favourite movies and why it gets me in such a deep and emotional level. One of the reasons is the soundtrack (there's lots of song from the 80's, which I love. Tears for Fears, Joy Division, etc, etc.). Whenever I listen to it, I get a fuzzy feeling that makes me happy and that I feel kinda translates me.
Second:
The soundtrack from the movie Palo Alto (2014). I don't know why, but I've been listening to a ton of Mac Demarco (and similar stuff, like Tame Impala) and this soundtrack is basically it. I live in a neighbourhood that is really similar to the one shown in this movie and I feel like this soundtrack should be playing her at the streets haha. I run almost everyday here and it's like these are the background songs (Donnie Darko also has the same effect for the same reasons, actually). It gets me in an emotional level since I relate those a lot with my teenage years and I have a hard time accepting they're behind me (sad :( )
Third:
Bring me the Horizon is my third current life soundtrack. I feel kinda emo saying this (haha) but I feel like these days, they're a band that speak to me in an emotional level as well. I feel understood, somehow. They're kinda pessimistic/''nihilistic''/(emo hahahaha help.) and that's basically me.
Okay, I'm sure the soundtrack of my life right now ain't the best BUT I SWEAR I'M COOL.
Hope you guys liked it,
xo
