I haven't updated in quite a while... it seems like once I sit down to write something I forget what I wanted to say.
Hmm, what's new?
I just finished this portrait of Edgar Allen Poe....
(graphite and colored pencil)
I think it turned out all right. I have never been any good at drawing or painting people, let alone a person that needs to resemble someone who actually lived. He turned out a little like Einstein and Tim Burton's love child! Hopefully he is still recognizable though.
I am going to frame and sell prints as well as Poe themed necklaces in my Etsy shop. I have been enameling brass bird wings black, and making tiny laudanum bottles to accompany the portrait on the necklaces.
It's hard to believe it is the end of April already. It is freezing today.
Butters is staying warm in his sweater that Giggles made:
She makes great crocheted stuff! Check it out.
I vended my wares at an event for the first time last month. The PDX Vampire Masquerade Ball! It went really well.....it was pretty amazing hearing so many nice things about my jewelry.
Here is my hubby and I:
(That was after about 8 hrs there.....I was tired and my hair was flat. )
My table....
It looked messier than I would have liked, but it was my first time.
I became very aware of the fact that I normally don't have a very inviting look on my face and that needed to change. I had to keep reminding myself that I wanted to be approached and socialize, and to wipe that pissed off look from my face!
It was an incredibly well done event though, and if you are into vampires, dressing up, great food, drinks, awesome music, and fancy decor....you need to go to this thing at least once. I wish I would have had time to take more pictures!
Time to finish my coffee and get some work done...
I hope everyone is having a great Spring!
